Description

Imagine a summer carnival, the air thick with the sweet scent of spun sugar, the vibrant hues of pink and blue swirling together in a fluffy cloud. That’s the magic we’ve captured in these Cotton Candy Cloud Bites. These aren’t just cookies; they’re a miniature explosion of fun, a sweet escape to childhood memories, and the perfect treat for any occasion that calls for a touch of whimsy. Whether it’s a birthday party, a cozy movie night, or just a simple afternoon craving something sweet, these bites are guaranteed to bring smiles to faces of all ages. I remember my first taste of cotton candy at the county fair. It was a fleeting, melt-in-your-mouth experience that left me wanting more. These Cloud Bites are my attempt to recreate that ephemeral delight, to bottle that carnival magic into a bite-sized treat you can enjoy anytime. They’re a little bit of nostalgia, a whole lot of deliciousness, and a guaranteed conversation starter. So, let’s step into the kitchen and create some edible clouds!

Ingredients

Scale

2 Cups White Cake Mix
½ Cup Unsalted Butter, Softened
½ Cup Powdered Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
½ Teaspoon Cotton Candy Extract
2 Tablespoons Milk
Pink and Blue Food Coloring
½ Cup White Chocolate Chips (Optional)
¼ Cup Sprinkles (Optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and creamy.
  2. Mix in the white cake mix, vanilla extract, cotton candy extract, and milk. Combine until a soft dough forms.
  3. Divide the dough into two separate bowls. Add pink food coloring to one bowl and blue food coloring to the other. Mix each bowl until the color is evenly distributed.
  4. Gently swirl the two colored doughs together in one of the bowls.
  5. Scoop small portions of the marbled dough and roll them into 1-inch balls. Place the bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Refrigerate the bites for 20 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. Bake the bites for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Once cooled, melt the white chocolate chips and drizzle them over the bites. Sprinkle with your favorite sprinkles if using.
  9. Serve and enjoy.
